What is Travatan Z?

How does Travatan Z work?

• Wash your hands before using. Do not touch the dropper tip or rest it on any other surface.
• Tilt your head back, looking upwards and away. Gently pull down your eyelid to make a pocket and drop one eye drop into the pocket. Close your eye for between one and two minutes and place a finger over the corner of your eye nearest your nose to prevent Travatan Z from draining out. Repeat this process for your other eye if necessary.
• Do not change or increase your Travatan Z dosage unless advised by a doctor. Using Travatan more often may make it less effective.
• Remove contact lenses before using this medication and wait fifteen minutes before putting them back in.
• If you use any other eye medication, use this medication first and wait at least five minutes in between medications.
• Travatan Z is most effective when it is used regularly. Try to take this medication at the same time each day and continue to use it even when you feel well.

Make sure to tell your doctor and pharmacist:

• If you have any drug allergies.
• Which other prescription and non-prescription medications you currently take.
• Your medical history especially of eye problems.
• If you are breast feeding.
• If you have eye surgery, injury or develop an eye infection while using travoprost. You may need to start using a new bottle of your medication.

Also be aware that:

• Travatan Z may cause temporary blurred vision when applied. You should not drive, operate machinery or do any other activity requiring clear vision until it can be done safely.
• Travatan Z Eye Drops should only be used when clearly needed during pregnancy.

Common Travatan Z side effects may include but are not limited to:

• Pain, itching or redness in the affected eye.
• Puffy eyelids.
• Blurred vision.

Contact your doctor if you experience any of the following travoprost side effects:

• Swollen, red or itchy eyelids.
• Signs of an infection of the eye such as swelling, redness, severe discomfort, crusting or drainage.
• An increased sensitivity to light.
• Vision changes.
• Severe burning, stinging or irritation after using these eye drops.
