What is Relpax?

Relpax and the generic alternative eletriptan are medications used to treat migraines which have already begun. Relpax works by narrowing blood vessels around the brain and reducing substances in the body which can trigger headache pain, nausea, sensitivity to light and sound and other migraine symptoms. This medication will not prevent or reduce migraines and should not be used to treat common tension headaches. Only use Relpax if your condition has been confirmed by a doctor as a migraine.

• Tightness or heavy feeling in your legs.
• A pale or blue appearance of your fingers or toes.
• Signs of a heart attack such as chest pain, chest pressure, a pain spreading to your jaw or shoulder, nausea or sweating.
• Signs of a stroke such as sudden numbness or weakness especially on one side of the body, sudden severe headache, slurred speech or problems with your vision or balance;
• Signs of dangerously high blood pressure such as severe headache, blurred vision, a buzzing in your ears, anxiety, confusion, chest pain, shortness of breath, uneven heartbeats or seizures.
• Signs of high levels of serotonin in the body such as agitation, hallucinations, fever, fast heart rate, overactive reflexes, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, loss of coordination or fainting.
• Signs of an allergic reaction such as hives, difficulty breathing or a swelling of your face, lips or throat.
